Mongolia with Tim Cope

Sydney : Mongolia with Tim Cope

Tuesday Feb 19, 2013 06:00 PM

Join Tim Cope- Australian Adventurer of the year [06] who has spent over five years travelling in Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine by bicycle, row boat, skis, horse and camel for a fascinating evening on this remote part of the world. As our specialist guide, Tim will talk about the next trek he is leading for World Expeditions - our upcoming, once in a lifetime trekking experience in western Mongolia.

From Ulaan Baatar to Ulaangom in the west’s greater Alai range, home of the Khotont people, we trace the Harhiraa river gorge to reach a spectacular 3000m pass between Harhiraa and Turgen peaks. Tim will give you a snapshot of the Harhiraa’s wide open slopes, nomadic people, deep river gorges, alpine lakes, and the inspiring, glacier capped peaks of Harhiraa and Turgen. The second part of this trek introduces you to the Kazakh people who are renown eagle hunters and trainers. To find out more about them and the other wonders of Mongolia you will first have to come to this information night and then go trekking in Mongolia!
