Antarctic Explorer

Just a belated thank you to World Expeditions for the wonderful trip to the Antarctic my sister and I joined last December. From the first day, it was agreed that 1 day on a plane and 2 1/2 days on a ship was a small price to pay to have the chance to enjoy such an amazing experience. The ship was comfortable and crewed by an excellent staff; the size of the vessel was perfect to allow maximum opportunity for the four dozen or so passengers to enjoy the experience (contrasted to many of the other vessels we saw in port in Ushuaia).
Furthermore, the guides provided were professional, knowledgeable and friendly, adding to the great atmosphere of the journey. Our fellow travellers were an outgoing and welcoming bunch too, which made for a wonderful time. I wholeheartedly commend World Expeditions to anyone as a first rate provider of adventure travel - I can't wait for my next opportunity to try another experience (perhaps Kenya at a quiet moment). My sincere thanks to the team.

What better way to experience a world of adventure than from handle bar level!

Cycling adventures enable you to explore areas travellers don’t normally get access to, and you do it all at a slow pace so you can take everything in. With the wind in your hair and the sun on your back you can perfectly combine activity with discovery. Join World Expeditions resident cyclist Philip Wyndham as he recalls some of his cycling adventures and our adventures through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, China, India, Peru, Europe and Australia as well as showing you how you can join us on these rewarding adventures.

World Expeditions began organizing cycling holidays in India in 1978, when we first recognised that cycling was the perfect means to explore remote villages a world away from the highways. Today, we operate a range of cycling holidays to suit all levels of cycling ability. From fully supported short cycling interludes to more challenging cross country traverses. Come and see for yourself how you can join us on one of these great adventures.

SPECIAL GUEST: Adventure cyclist Dave Turner will be attending the night to speak about the Lhasa to Kathmandu Cycle Expedition he will be leading for World Expeditions in May 2013. You’ll also have the opportunity to be enthralled by stunning images and videos as well as intriguing stories of Dave’s own adventures on the search for the magical Himalayan kingdom of Shambhala. There is no better person to lead this expedition than Dave who himself has spent over a year searching the Himalaya for the mystical Shambhala, believed to be hidden in the north Himalayas and rumoured to be protected by winged lions, gods & demonesses!
